Montreal-based photographer Valerie Simmons has been expertly using light to bring elegance and sensuality to her subjects for over thirty years. Before studying Photography, Simmons studied Fine Art and dance, both of which she credits for her sense of colour, design and movement.

Simmons is the recipient of several national and international industry awards, including multiple prizes bestowed by Applied Arts, Lux Quebec, CAPIC, and no less than four awards granted by the prestigious Hasselblad camera company of Sweden. Publications such as Inforpresse, Polaroid International, Photo News, Applied Arts, McLean's and Vie des Arts have written about her work and career. The reality TV series "Naked in the House" showcased on Fashion Television chose Simmons as one of ten Canadian Photographers to partake in the fourth edition.

Simmons' ceaseless passion for capturing beauty in all things is infectious, and it is a quality she looks for in the industry professionals she works with on her photography sets. Working with people who set high standards for themselves and share a love of the craft is why Simmons describes photography as "the best job on earth."
